Registration data services are moving from the old WHOIS protocol to RDAP, and operators are retiring their WHOIS services on their own schedules. For example, Nominet plans to retire WHOIS for .UK on 9 February 2027. At the same time, much registrant data remains redacted, and access depends on requests to registrars or on ICANN's Registration Data Request Service.
