San Francisco, CA: May 1, 2026 – MarkScout's policy lead has been elected to the executive committee of the ICANN Business Constituency for the 2026 term, which runs from 1 January to 31 December. The Business Constituency represents commercial users of the Internet within ICANN's Generic Names Supporting Organization.
The constituency is active on several issues that matter to brand owners, including DNS abuse mitigation, access to registration data and the next round of new gTLDs, for which applications were accepted from 30 April to 12 August 2026.
MarkScout will use the role to represent the practical experience of its clients: what works in enforcement, where the data gaps are and how the cost of new rules falls on businesses.
“Policy outcomes are shaped by those who turn up with evidence. We bring the view from the front line of brand protection,” says Daniel Hartley, Chief Revenue Officer at MarkScout.
