MarkScout offers new gTLD tracking database for the 2026 round

Searchable view of applications, strings and launch milestones helps brand owners plan

San Francisco, CA: October 2, 2026 – MarkScout has launched a database that tracks applications, strings and launch milestones for the 2026 round of new generic top-level domains. ICANN accepted applications from 30 April to 12 August 2026, with a base application fee of USD 227,000, following the publication of the Applicant Guidebook on 16 December 2025.

The first round, launched in 2012, delegated 1,241 new top-level domains. The new round will bring additional strings, brand TLDs and community and geographic applications, and with them new launch phases, trademark protection periods and objection windows.

The database lets clients search for strings that resemble their marks, see the status of each application and set alerts for the next steps, including the objection period that follows the application window.

“A trademark owner who learns about a conflicting string late has fewer options. This database is built to help clients find the ones that matter early,” says Marcus Whitfield, cybersecurity and digital risk intelligence expert at MarkScout.
